Deborah Simpson, Ph.D.

Dr. Deborah Simpson is a licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan.  She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Louisiana Tech University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center.  Dr. Simpson has worked across multiple settings including community mental health, college mental health, and private practice.

Dr. Simpson has experience working with adolescents (age 15+) and adults, of all genders and diverse backgrounds.  She has significant experience addressing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity development concerns, grief and loss, and life transitions and adjustments.  Dr. Simpson also has a passion and expertise in treating eating disorders, including clients struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder.  Dr. Simpson’s approach to therapy is integrative, utilizing evidence-based approaches and techniques that best fit the concerns and needs of the individual.  Dr. Simpson aims to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel open to explore their concerns and work toward change.

Dr. Simpson is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders, the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and the American Psychological Association.
